ε′Questions

What people often ask.

Git, AI agents, security and availability: the short answers.

What is Kern?

Kern is a desktop app that puts Git, GitHub, Trello, your editors, Claude Code and Codex CLI in one window. You go from an issue to a branch to a pull request without switching tools.

How does Kern use Claude Code and Codex?

From an issue, Kern creates a dedicated branch and starts the agent you choose (Claude Code or Codex CLI) with the project context: prompt, memory, rules (AGENTS.md) and tests to run. You review the diff and tests before the pull request.

Is my code sent to a server?

No. Kern works with the folders and tools already on your machine. Secrets live in the system keychain and the website never receives your repositories’ content.

Which systems does Kern run on? Is it available?

Kern will ship for Windows, macOS and Linux. It is in private preview: test builds are shared on Discord.
